World Whisky Day Saturday 18th May
Join in the #WorldWhiskyDay celebrations on Saturday afternoon from 1:00pm with a wee sample of the first Whisky blend from the Northumberland distillers, Ad Gefrin, 'Tácnbora'
The Whisky has notes of Honey, Vanilla, Candied Citrus Peel and spices on the nose, whilst on the palate, you will pick up flavours of Sultanas, Cream Soda and Nutmeg. The finish lingers and coats the mouth with tastes of Honey, Vanilla and Sweet Citrus.
Ad Gefrin has re-awakened the Northumbrian tradition for Whisky distilling, that has slept for over 200 years. The brainchild of Co-founders Alan and Eileen Ferguson, the business is a world class, Northumberland Anglo-Saxon Museum and English Whisky Distillery.
It opened in March of 2023 and celebrates and showcases the unique heritage, ancient hospitality and contemporary crafts, arts and produce of Northumberland.
Every year, World Whisky Day is celebrated on the Third Saturday of May, which is this Saturday and we’re delighted to be welcoming Ad Gefrin to celebrate this year’s World Whisky Day.
